Lawyer John Ndebugre is dead

The former Member of Parliament for Zebilla died on Friday (6 May) at his residence in the Bawku West District capital after a short illness

The private legal practitioner John Akparibo Ndebugre has passed away in Zebilla in the Upper East Region at the age of 72, his family has confirmed.

The former MP for Zebilla died on Friday (6 May 2022) at his residence in Zebilla, the capital of Bawku West District, after a brief illness.

The former People’s National Convention (PNC) secretary left behind a widow and four children.

A staunch member of the PNC, Ndebugre served as the MP for Zebilla in the fourth parliament of the Fourth Republic from January 2005 onwards.

He secured Zebilla with over 35% of the vote, one of the three seats out of the 13 in the Upper East won that year by the PNC.

Among his rivals for the seat in the December 2004 election were Cletus Avoka for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Appiah Moses for the then governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Ndebugre was born on 12 March 1950. He was a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and held a Bachelor of Science degree. He was also a product of the Ghana School of Law.
