Mahama: Rising state of insecurity reflective of current leadership

The former president says the recent killings in the country are as a result of failure on the part of the country's leadership

John Dramani Mahama, the former president has said the rising tension and general state of insecurity in Ghana are reflective of the current leadership.

Mahama has since expressed his condolence to the families of Ibrahim ‘Kaaka’ Mohammed, the late social media activist and two others who were killed in Ejura, describing the development as unfortunate.

Mahama was speaking at the opening of a three-day retreat for communicators of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party in Ho over the weekend, where he charged the party to rescue power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The 2020 presidential candidate for the NDC commended the party’s communications team for promoting and explaining the party’s ‘People’s Manifesto’ to Ghanaians, noting that the policies outlined in the manifesto became the most talked-about by Ghanaians because it reflected the aspirations of the people.

The former president also applauded the team for the reliance on facts and data. Mahama encouraged the NDC communicators not to worry about the frequent resort to personal attacks and intimidation by the party’s main opponents.
