Meet Jeffrey Yeboah, the university drop out turning waste into wealth

Yeboah dropped out of the University of Ghana at level 300 due to financial difficulties and is now fully into the business of turning waste into wealth

The founder and creative lead of Ripples Decor and Design, Jeffery Kwabena Yeboah, is optimistic of going global with his business of recycling old car tyres into household furniture.

Yeboah dropped out of the University of Ghana at level 300 due to financial difficulties and is now fully into the business of turning waste into wealth.

He has since acquired various skills to master his craft after enrolling in the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre at Ashesi University to get some nurturing for his green business.

Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (30 May), Yeboah said he will soon return to school after making strides in his business.

“I couldn’t complete University of Ghana, in level 300 I just had to back off and focus on my purpose, because I calculated the money I had.

“Truthfully, I never thought I’d get into waste in my life but when I saw car tyres, I told my friend I could make a table from it and then added it to my services as a freebie.”

“I went on the show of the former chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei – Business Compass on GHone TV – and she requested for a planter to be made for her. I didn’t think I could do it but she pushed me to do it,” Yeboah said.
