MoTI: Allegation of missing GHC270 million under 1D1F false

The NDC MP for Ellembelle Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah alleges that the said amount could not be accounted for under the 1D1F initiative

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) has dismissed allegations suggesting that it is unable to account for some missing GHC 270 million under the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative.

It comes after the ranking Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah alleged the said amount could not be accounted for under the (1D1F) initiative.

In a statement on Monday (20 December), the ministry described the allegations as “totally inaccurate”.

“The ministry wishes to state categorically that, the said statement attributed to the ranking member is not only misleading but totally inaccurate. The ministry, upon request by the Hon Ranking Member submitted full information on the application of the full amount of GHC 269 million allocated for interest subsidy payment for loan facilities granted by the selected participating Financial Institutions to de-risk loans to 1D1F companies,” the the statement said.

“The Ministry wishes to use this opportunity to assure the private sector operators interested in the 1D1F initiative that, it will continue to provide support for their projects working in collaboration with the PFIs to sustain and increase the over 153,782 jobs created by1D1F companies across the country.”
