NPP Ho Central secretary to Youth : Be ambassadors of peace ahead of elections

Bright Doh, Ho Central secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asked the youth to serve as peace ambassadors ahead of the December elections

The Ho Central secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bright Doh, has urged the youth to be ambassadors of peace ahead of the December elections.

Doh who was monitoring the ongoing limited voter registration exercise spoke with Asaase News, where he stressed the need to ensure the national interest is key come the general election this year.

“The actions and inactions of the key players in the electoral process had the potential to either promote peace or plunge the country into insecurity. We have come to learn that elections are about brain power and policies, not violence and war. I therefore call on the youth, especially and all other Ghanaians to fight for the interests of this country rather than what they will gain from any political party.”

Doh Added, “We all know that some of you don’t even have a visa to travel outside the country should we fuel war or violence in the country during the coming general election. This is the reason why I want to challenge all political parties, security agencies, church leaders, chiefs and other stakeholders to preach the message of peace to their followers and encourage them to vote for policies to foster development and promote peace in the country.”

“All of us must endeavor to put Ghana first and make a conscious effort at making the electoral process one of integrity so that we can make our country better than we came to meet it,” he said.

Bright Doh emphasised that the leadership of the various political parties is completely united and harmonious at the top, but those who are not even beneficiaries try to take the law into their own hands, sometimes taking innocent lives.
