ORC begins nationwide inspection of businesses, companies 25 March

“In view of the above our Company Inspectors with their identification tags will visit all Business and Company premises to inspect their books and documents, the ORC statement said.

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) will, from Monday, March 25, 2024, undertake a nationwide inspection of the books and registration documents of companies and businesses, as part of an exercise to ensure compliance under the Companies Act, 2019, (Act 992).

In a statement, the ORC said the inspection will cover certificates of incorporation and registration (for companies and partnership business names); a combined register with information on directors and members; compliance status, i.e. filing of annual returns and amendments, and update on company and business details.

“In view of the above our Company Inspectors with their identification tags will visit all Business and Company premises to inspect their books and documents, as well as educate them on how to be compliant with the laws governing Businesses and Companies. The exercise will be conducted in all regions,” the statement said.
