Police officer found dead at Flagstaff House barracks

The death of Inspector Emmanuel Kofi Nunekpeku comes days after another officer was found dead in his room at Adankwame in the Ashanti Region

A police officer has been found dead in his room at the Flagstaff House police barracks in Accra on Friday, investigators have confirmed.

Police sources say his wife, Sergeant Faustina Nunekpeku, reported the incident at the Cantonments Police Station when she discovered the body in the room while visiting the husband.

The body of Inspector Emmanuel Kofi Nunekpeku has been taken to the Police Hospital morgue for further investigations.

The police is not suspecting any foul play for now, sources said.

Another death

His death comes days after another officer was found dead in his room at Adankwame in the Ashanti Region.

The late Sargent Kwame Baidoo with the Suntreso District Police was discovered unconscious in his bathroom at about 8:30 a.m on Monday 14 June 2021.

He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but was confirmed dead by medics, according to Dailymailgh.com.

His body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
