President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Saturday (24 December) joined friends and relatives of the senior presidential advisor Yaw Osafo-Maafo to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Osafo-Maafo was MP for Akim Oda from 1997 to 2009, and previously served as Finance Minister and in other cabinet roles in the Kufuor administration between 2001 and 2009.

He was appointed Minister of Finance in February 2001 and later Minister of Finance and Economic Planning during the Kufuor administration. He held this position until January 2005.
