Police hunt for robbers who fired into VIP bus

The police are pursuing four robbers who shot into a passenger bus in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, killing one person

The police in the Ashanti Region are pursuing a four-member gang of armed robbers who fired gunshots into a commercial bus at Woraso, along the road between Mampong and Ejura, killing one person and injuring another, a statement said.

According to the Police Service, the regional anti-robbery team led by the Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Boakye Afful Yiadom, has since moved to the area and is in pursuit of the alleged highway robbers in the bush and surrounding towns.

The police said anyone with credible information should call the police on any of the emergency numbers – 191, 18555 and 112 – for prompt action.
