Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty is ‘over the moon’ after learning of his daughter’s pregnancy.
Fenty, 68, admitted he was ‘ecstatic’ after the 33-year-old singer unveiled her growing baby bump with her partner A$AP Rocky on Monday during a snowy stroll through New York City.
‘I’m so happy that I jumped for joy. I’m still so excited,’ Fenty continued in an interview with Page Six later in the day.

‘Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins’ kids…she’s going to be a good mom,’ her father said.
The celebrity father, who spoke via phone from his home in Barbados, said he found Rocky to be ‘a very cool guy’ after the two got a chance to meet when his daughter brought the rapper home in December 2020.
‘I like him,’ he added, before revealing that he got the news of Rihanna’s pregnancy a day before she and Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) went public with her burgeoning tummy.
‘I just got the news from her last night, and she sent me some photos,’ he said. ‘I’m just over the moon. She’s beautiful inside and out.’
His warm words belied the fact that Ronald and Rihanna have publicly feuded in the past over business matters.
In 2019, she sued her father for using their last name for his company Fenty Entertainment. In the suit, she accused him and his business partner of representing themselves as her agents.
She withdrew her lawsuit in September, and it’s believed that the two came to a settlement.
Ronald’s relationship with family was also strained in the past due to his addictions to alcohol and drugs, and she previously claimed that he had been violent toward her and her mother in the past.
That seems to be water under the bridge for him and his daughter now.
Also on Monday, a source close to the We Found Love singer shared with People that she ‘couldn’t be happier’ about her pregnancy.
‘Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn’t be happier and is so excited to be a mom,’ the source claimed
‘She’s loving all the changes to her body during pregnancy and has always celebrated pregnant women in her runway shows for Fenty.’
But they added that her fiercely independent spirit meant that she would handle her pregnancy ‘her own way on her own time table.’
‘They’re just like any other pair of parents-to-be,’ the source added of Rihanna and Rocky. ‘Yes, they happen to be famous but they’re just the cutest, giddiest young couple that’s expecting kids.’
The rapper’s ‘doting’ nature appears to have helped him win over the cosmetics and lingerie mogul.
‘A lot of guys have tried to sweep her off her feet, but Rocky actually managed to do it,’ the insider said. ‘He’s over-the-top romantic and sends her rooms full of flowers all the time. She’s never felt this way before and this relationship has changed her.’
Another insider noted that the couple ‘live together now’ and are ‘beyond happy’ about the future baby.
‘Everyone is happy it’s all working out. They will be great parents,’ they added.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky revealed her pregnancy when they went for a walk in the rapper’s home neighbourhood of Harlem in New York City on Friday, and the We Found Love singer made no effort to hide her belly, despite freezing temperatures and snow.
She was photographed in a bright pink $8,000 vintage Chanel coat, which she wore open from just below her breasts, showing off a several-months-along pregnant tummy.
The star didn’t wear a shirt under her colorful jacket, though temperatures in the city dipped down to 24 degrees Fahrenheit that day, just before Winter Storm Kenan blew in with several inches of show.
However, she did accessorize with a large sparkling body chain that hung over her bump, ensuring all eyes were on her growing stomach.
The pair certainly seemed excited to flaunt their baby news around Harlem, where Rocky, 33, is from.
They were photographed walking around together, with Rocky at points slinging his arm around Rihanna’s shoulders and kissing her head.
However, the couple still appear to have kept their baby news under wraps since the photos were taken — possibly due in part to the seemingly empty streets around them, thanks to the frigid weather.
Though Rihanna may have taken warmth from her happiness over her growing family, she was in no way dressed for the weather.
The star wore light-wash jeans with holes on the knees, which dragged on the ground.
She topped them with a long but not particularly heavy-looking quilted pink Chanel coat that reached down to her shins.
The coat, from Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall/Winter 1996 collection, is made of silk with Gripoix button.
Though she buttoned it at the very top, she left nearly all of the buttons undone, holding the two sides of the coat open to expose her bare belly to the camera — and the elements.
She kept her ungloved hands in her pockets, forcing the sides of the coat open to show off her stomach and her jewelry.
She draped her belly in a gold body chain which included some large colorful jewels at the top and what appeared to be a string of pearls that hung lower. She also added a gold-and-black chain belt from Chanel to complete the fashion-forward look.
Rihanna and Rocky were initially linked in November of 2020, after it was reported that they were seeing each other following the singer’s split from her ex-boyfriend, Hassan Jameel.
The two had been acquainted ever since the early 2010s, when they began performing and touring with each other.
Rihanna and Rocky remained friends for much of the decade before People confirmed that they were officially dating in November 2020.
The two embarked on a romantic vacation to the singer’s native Barbados the following month, and the rapper spent Christmas with his girlfriend’s family.
A separate source spoke to People and noted that, although the pair had just started seeing each other, they were very invested in each other.
