Samoa Addo: Bawumia is capable of becoming NPP flagbearer

Samoa Addo believes Bawumia has over the years endeared himself to party supporters than any of the other contenders in the race

A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo has said Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stands a better chance of becoming flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) than his main contenders.

Samoa Addo believes Bawumia has over the years endeared himself to party supporters than any of the other contenders in the race.

Speaking on Asaase 99.5 Accra’s news analysis show, The Forum, on Saturday (8 April), Samoa Addo said: “The November date is a good one, especially for my top three candidates. My presumptive nominee is Bawumia, and I also believe that Kennedy Agyapong can beat Alan Kyerematen.

“It’s all about momentum; two years before now, if you tell me that I’d have said Bawumia will win the presidential ticket, I’d have said no. Even the religious side but the man has built momentum and endeared himself to a lot of people.”

“Strategic alliances are very important. Alan Kyeremanten’s best bet now is to go into agreement with Dr Bawumia to be on his ticket as vice-president. With those two as team, the NPP ticket is set,” he said.
