The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, has published significant successes chalked over the past two years since he took office.
Agyebeng, who was sworn into office two years ago, promised to work hard to ensure that corruption in Ghana, which he likened to a pandemic, is suppressed and repressed.
“I come into this office and pledge to the people of Ghana as I said exactly two weeks ago, that I am going to work assiduously [and] with deliberation to suppress and repress corruption,” Agyebeng said when he was sworn into office on Thursday 5 August 2021.
Two years down the line, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has released a chart detailing its achievements after the appointment of Agyebeng.
Among the successes chalked is the completion of major cases and the halting of payment of GHC5 million in the Northern Development Authority (NDA) case and recovery of over GHC1 million.
