Support my presidential ambition, says Kyerematen

Kyerematen has appealed to Osabarima Kwesi Atta II to encourage delegates in his area to support his presidential bid

Alan Kyerematen has appealed to the paramount chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, to encourage delegates in his area to support his presidential bid.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful made this statement when he paid a courtesy call on the paramount chief as part of his tour of the Central Region.

The former minister of trade and industry outlined his plans for the country when given the nod as president of the republic.

He acknowledged that the constitution prevents chiefs from engaging in party politics, however, he said the chiefs and traditional rulers are major stakeholders in development, thus they should support the cause of persons whom they believe can foster development.

Kyerematen said it is important that chiefs and traditional rulers play a role in who becomes president because development is what they seek from any leader.

Thousands of Kyerematen’s supporters thronged the paramount chief’s palace to welcome him to the Central Region.

Tour of the Central Region

Kyerematen began his visit to the region at the paramount chief’s palace where sought his blessings.

Clad in ‘Alan’ branded t-shirts and other NPP paraphernalia, a crowd of supporters waited amidst brass band music until Kyerematen and his entourage arrived at the palace.

Yaw Buaben Asamoa, the spokesperson of Kyerematen’s campaign team, said he deemed it important to formally inform Osabarima Kwesi Atta II and the people of the Central Region of Kyerematen’s presidential ambition and to seek their blessings. Asamoa is a native of the region.
