Techiman Eleven Wonders fined GHC10,000, handed one-match home ban

The GFA says the team misconducted itself in their Ghana Premier League Week 18 match against Asante Kotoko at the Ohene Ameyaw Park

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has handed Techiman Eleven Wonders a GHC10,000 fine and a one-match home ban.

It follows what the committee describes as misconduct by the team in their Ghana Premier League Week 18 match against Asante Kotoko at the Ohene Ameyaw park in Techiman.

The team had already been banned from playing their home game in Techiman for flouting COVID-19 protocols .

A statement issued by the Ghana Football Association said: “Several fans, who clearly were not observing the COVID-19 protocols were seen watching the match…”

“Following the Directive of the Ghana Football Association in consultation with the National COVID-19 Task Force that Ghana Premier League Matchday 18 matches to be played behind closed doors, the Association has taken notice of the various violations that took place at the Nana Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman during the Matchday 18 Ghana Premier League game by Techiman Eleven Wonders FC,” it added.
