Otumfuo@25: Asantehene has had an exceptional reign, says Caryn Agyeman Prempeh

The daughter of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Dr Caryn Agyeman Prempeh has praised the Asante king for his remarkable leadership over the past 25 years

The founder of CERVIVA Ghana Foundation and daughter of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu IIDr Caryn Agyeman Prempeh, has lauded the Asante King for his exceptional ruling in the last 25 years.

According to Dr Agyeman Prempeh, young people played active roles in the recent 25th-anniversary celebration of the revered monarch.

Speaking to Asaase News, Dr Agyeman Prempeh said, “Asantehene … has sort of added a wise twist to the ruling now and so the reign has sort of become beautiful and then a young person can connect to it.”

People from all walks of life gathered on Sunday, 12 May 2024, at Dwabirem at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, to attend the Akwasidae-kese durbar, which marked the 25th anniversary of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s enstoolment as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool.

President Akufo-Addo led a high-powered delegation to the Manhyia Palace, with the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley, being the special guest of honour.

Other dignitaries, traditional and political figures from far and near also paid homage to the Asante monarch.
