US-based Ghanaian singer killed in Columbus

Homicide detectives have arrested a 41-year-old woman Tyona Dunkle for the deadly shooting in east Columbus

Britney Boateng, US-based Ghanaian singer has been killed following an argument with his sister-in law Tyona Dunkle at East Side home in the US, police in Columbus have confirmed.

A statement issued by the police said Dunkle has been arrested and has been charged with murder.

“Homicide detectives have arrested a 41-year-old woman for the deadly shooting that occurred overnight in east Columbus. Tyona Dodson is charged with murder in the death of Britney Boateng.

“On November 21, 2022, at approximately 1 a.m., Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Weyant Avenue on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found the 22-year-old victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” the police said.

“Columbus Fire medics pronounced the victim dead a short time later. Investigators later determined an argument between both women led to the fatal shooting,” police posted on Facebook.

Dunkle is currently being held in the Franklin County jail. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance on Tuesday 22 November.
