Afua Asantewaa Aduonum on Sunday (24 December) began an attempt in Ghana to break the longest singing marathon (or singathon) which is recognised by the Guinness World Records.

The rules of the marathon allow the singer to take a break for 20 minutes every four hours.

Also a song cannot be repeated within four hours.

Asantewaa’s mission is all about taking Ghanaian music to the world stage.

She is on a mission to showcase the incredible diversity of genres such as gospel, highlife and hiplife.
