2023 RTP Awards: Asaase receives massive nominations

The Asaase Breakfast show has been nominated for the Radio Programme of the Year 2023 and Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd also nominated in the Radio Station of the Year category

The Asaase Breakfast Show and two on-air personalities of Asaase 100.3 Cape Cape Coast have bagged nominations for the prestigious annual Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards taking place on 27 December 2023 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The Asaase Breakfast Show has been nominated for the Radio Programme of the Year 2023 and Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd has also been nominated in the Radio Station of the Year category.

Over the past few months, Asaase 100.3 Cape Coast has become the fastest-growing radio station in the Central Region.

Speaking to Asaase News about her nomination, the host of Between Hours on Asaase 100.3 Cape Cape Coast, Nyaniba, said, “I feel overwhelmed and emotional. This is a very special moment in my life. It already feels like a win for me.”

“I have been doing radio for 17 years now and have won a few regional awards, but this one is coming as a result of painstakingly fishing out unfortunate single mothers, teenage mothers and the destitute and bringing them to the fore for benefactors to assist them out of their needs,” Nyaniba said.

She added, “Should I win this award, I will dedicate the award to my listeners, for without them, I would not have been where I am and more so, to win an award. My listeners are those that matter.”

“To my fellow radio presenters, it might urge them to work hard and emulate my work, as I also followed the footsteps of others,” Nyaniba added.

The Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards is an annual awards ceremony for radio and television in Ghana.

On her part, the host of Asaase Café in Cape Coast, Nana Ama Egyirba who won the RTP Radio Personality of the Year in the Central Region in 2021 said, “I am excited about a third-time recognition. I am the reigning radio personality of the year for the Central Region.”

“As a midmorning show host, undoubtedly on one of Ghana’s biggest radio platforms, Asaase Radio, I have the privilege to be in my listeners’ work space.”

Egyirba said, “A good mood for work is my priority because an employer or boss needs that to enjoy the workspace.”

“I always go the extra mile, just to ensure that my audience, both on-air and online, never misses out on my show, Asaase Café.”

Egyirba is also the host of “What Women Want Show”.

“Well, I know my audience. I know their taste and I always make sure not to disappoint.”

She noted that in her over 18-year journey in radio, one of the greatest lessons that keeps her on top of her game is to always prepare ahead of time.

“I love to engage my listeners. When I get commendations, I don’t get swollen-headed. I try to do even better.”

Nana Ama Egyirba and Nyaniba will be competing for honours with Don Kay, Osahene Kwame Dapaa, Shadrack Owusu Menz, Amansan Krakye, Shaq Bee, and Onua Addison.
