Abdallah Banda appointed national coordinator for Zongo development

The former MP for Offinso-South has been tasked to spearhead government policies aimed at transforming the Zongo communities

Ben Abdallah Banda, a former MP has been appointed as the national coordinator for Zongo development at the Office of the President.

His appointment follows government’s decision to scrap the Ministry of Zongo and Inner Cities Development.

The ministry, which had Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid as the substantive minister, was collapsed in the second-term of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government.

It is now an agency under the Office of the President and its remaining functions were subsumed into the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

Banda, the former MP for Offinso-South, is noted for his hard work and commitment to service.

Serving as the chairman of two major committees – the Constitutional Committee and the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee – in the seventh Parliament, he spearheaded the passage of the largest number of bills in the Fourth Republic.
