Yaw Barima: Justice Anin-Yeboah is a staunch Hearts of Oak fan

In May 2017, Justice Anin-Yeboah was appointed chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the 67th FIFA Congress in Bahrain

The outgoing Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah is obsessed with Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, lawyer Yaw Barima, a close friend and associate has said.

Justice Anin-Yeboah who is retiring today (24 May) at the age of 70, replaced Sophia Akuffo as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana in December 2019.

Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (24 May) Barima said: “I know that he is incurably a Hearts of Oak supporter, a Phobia man, at some point, it was almost like an obsession, he liked Hearts of Oak to the core.”

Football role

In May 2017, Justice Anin-Yeboah was appointed chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the 67th FIFA Congress in Bahrain.

He was also the chairman of the FIFA Ethics Committee responsible for investigating possible infringements of the FIFA Code of Ethics.

The outgoing Chief Justice of Ghana was part of the CAF/FIFA Reform Implementation Taskforce team for African football in September 2019.
