NPP to MP aspirants in Ejisu: Conduct peaceful and friendly campaign

The contestants on Saturday (6 April) subjected themselves to the committee chaired by deputy Majority Leader Patricia Appiagyei

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised the nine aspirants seeking to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region to conduct a peaceful and friendly campaign ahead of the Saturday’s election.

The party over the weekend successfully vetted and cleared all nine aspirants.

The contestants on Saturday (6 April) subjected themselves to the committee chaired by Deputy Majority Leader Patricia Appiagyei.

The NPP has scheduled the election of a parliamentary candidate for Saturday (13 April), following the passing of the MP for the area, John Kumah.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (8 April), director of elections of the NPP, Evans Nimako, said the report of the vetting will be submitted to the party’s executive committee on Tuesday (9 April).

“The report will be submitted to the executive committee tomorrow (9 April) when it meets, as we informed the candidates, the committee was satisfied with their responses to the issues discussed.”

“Until then, they were all advised to conduct a peaceful and friendly campaign that will ensure the unity of the party is kept intact in the constituency. At the end of the day, it is only one of them that the party will sponsor to the by-election which the EC is yet to fix a date,” Nimako said.
