Andre Ayew leaves Swansea City

Welsh club confirms Ghana captain's exit following contract expiration.

Welsh club Swansea City has confirmed the exit of Ghanaian international, Andre Ayew.

A club statement on Twitter announced that Andre Ayew and three other players would leave the club following the expiration of their contracts.

The announcement ends a combined four-year spell at the Welsh club, over two stints.

Andre Ayew first signed for Swansea City in 2015 on a free transfer but would leave a year later for West Ham United, after scoring 12 goals in 34 Premier League matches.

In January 2018, Ayew completed a deadline day return to former club Swansea City for a reported £18 million rising to £20 million with add-ons until the end of the 2020–21 season. The Black Stars captain scored 15 goals in 44 matches in his debut Championship season.

In his second season, Andre Ayew scored 16 times in 43 matches in the Championship. His final appearance was in the 2-0 loss to Brentford in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
