Asante Kotoko: Prosper Ogum remains head coach after meeting with Otumfuo

Prosper Ogum has been under a lot pressure from the fans who have called for his resignation

Prosper Ogum will remain as the head coach of Asante Kotoko following a crisis meeting with the life patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Thursday (18 April).

The gathering, which took place at the residence of the Asantehene in Manhyia, Kumasi brought together the players, the technical team and the interim management committee (IMC).

Ogum has been under a lot of pressure with the fans calling for his resignation following six defeats in seven games in the Ghana Premier League leaving the club in 11th position on the league table.

The supporters prevented the team from training on Tuesday (16 April) as the Kotoko began preparation to face league leaders Samartex 1996 on Sunday (21 April).

In response to these developments, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II intervened to convene the emergency meeting, affirming Ogum’s position as head coach alongside the interim management committee.
