Banda to electorates: Prioritise political policies over religious ties

The coordinator of Zongo and Inner Cities Development says religion should not overshadow the importance of political policies in shaping the country's future

Ben Abdallah Banda, the coordinator of Zongo and Inner Cities Development, has drawn attention to the importance of prioritising political policies over religious affiliations in electoral decisions.

His statement comes on the back of remarks made by Alan Kyerematen advocating for a voting pattern based on religious identity.

Speaking on Townhall Talk on Friday ( 5 April) on the issue of religion in Ghanaian politics, Banda underscored the need for citizens to prioritise national interests and the greater good over religious considerations during elections.

He stressed that while religion holds significant cultural value in Ghana, it should not overshadow the importance of political policies in shaping the country’s future.

Alhaji Banda said, “Regardless of how sensitive religion is, Ghanaians should prioritise political policies over religious affiliations in their electoral decisions.”

He further highlighted the essence of making informed choices based on the potential impact of political agendas on the nation’s development.
