Black Sherif is the voice of the youth in Africa, says Akon

Akon has said that the songs of Black Sherif are so relatable to the youth, which makes him the voice of African youth today

Sensational American singer, Akon, has said that the songs of Black Sherif depict real life situations and challenges facing African youth wanting to achieve greatness in life.

Speaking on BBC Radio, he said, “You can hear in his voice, you can feel the pain, you can feel the struggle, you hear the challenges and you can just hear a ghetto kid wanting to get out.”

“Like it is just the way he says it. Like you know, he’s real, it’s nothing that’s fabricated. He’s the voice of the youth in Africa.”

Akon also said he is a fan of Black Sherif because he reminds him of the start of his career, “He’s the voice of me” (Akon). I’m a huge fan of Black Sherif right now. I think maybe cause he just reminded me of the energy of myself when I came out.”

According to him, he first heard of Black Sherif in New York when a friend in Mali named Bako played his song and he exclaimed with surprise, “Yo, who the f**k is that?”

Black Sherif is one of the fast- rising Ghanaian singers and rappers who is currently gaining international recognition.
