All is set for the much-awaited Wizkid Live concert in Ghana slated for Saturday (10 December) at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Saturday’s live concert comes after Wizkid’s sold out concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Organisers of the concert, Live Hub Entertainment are promising an indelible mark in the minds of more than 40,000 music lovers and enthusiasts who will throng the venue.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (7 December), a production partner of the concert Ruddy Kwakye said adequate security and measures have been put in place to ensure a successful concert.
“We sat down with Wizkid and thought about how crazy we could go with this … and so we are setting up a 360-perspective show with a centre stage in the middle with an area capacity of about 40,000.”
“I am proud to say that part of the production chain that delivered Global Citizen are a part of this production to ensure that we deliver and deliver well,” he added.
“Currently Ghana has placed itself in such a way that we are that place that most people want to ‘enter’ and kick off their events and it is with this background that we are kicking off December in Ghana,” Kwakye said.
Performance
R2Bees, Efya, Darko vibes King Promise, Kelvyn Boy Gyakie are among the host of local artistes set to perform at the concert.
Wizkid is expected to perform songs from his forthcoming album “More Love, Less Ego”, as well as his biggest hits to his devoted fans.
The album will be Wizkid’s fifth studio album and will feature both home and international artists like Ayra Starr, Don Toliver, Skepta, Naira Marley, Skillibeng and Shenseea.
The Wizkid Live in Ghana Concert is in partnership with Asaase Broadcasting Limited and will be broadcast live on Asaase Radio.
