Data drives decisions: Yadaba Comms, Dataware Tech equip financial leaders for the future

This event addressed the critical need for financial leaders to use data-driven insights for strategic planning amid the sector's rapid digital transformation

A successful two-day workshop, ‘Empowering Decision Makers: A Comprehensive Journey through Data Analytics’, was held in Accra, co-organised by Yadaba Communications and Dataware Tech.

On 7 and 8 May 2024, senior executives from top financial institutions gathered at the Airport View Hotel to enhance their data analytics and decision-making abilities.

This event addressed the critical need for financial leaders to use data-driven insights for strategic planning amid the sector’s rapid digital transformation.

Participants were provided with essential tools and knowledge to leverage data effectively, ensuring their organisations stay competitive and adaptable in an evolving market. Each participant also went home with a certificate of participation.

Jeremiah Ishaya, the Lead Facilitator, emphasised the importance of data analytics in the financial industry, noting the increased demand for precise data analysis driven by digitalisation.

“For financial institutions, utilising data for actionable insights is crucial. Data analytics, which involves extracting valuable information from large datasets, is indispensable. This training empowers participants to maximise the benefits of data for their institutions,” stated Mr. Ishaya. He also highlighted the limitations of Ghana’s data infrastructure, calling for robust mechanisms to implement data-driven policies effectively and stressing the importance of data quality.

Nana Kojo Hagan, a Business Intelligence Specialist at Dataware Tech, underscored the importance of data science for operational efficiency. “This training aimed to transform leaders into data innovators rather than mere consumers. The active participation and insightful discussions from attendees show significant progress towards this goal,” Mr. Hagan explained.

Experts led the workshop, covering a comprehensive range of topics such as data analytics fundamentals, advanced predictive modeling techniques, innovative machine learning applications for finance, and practical data exploration and preparation.

Interactive sessions enabled participants to apply their new skills to real-world scenarios, focusing on data-driven improvements in risk management, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. The engaging question-and-answer segments fostered active participation and knowledge exchange.

The workshop concluded with participants committing to promote a data-centric culture within their organisations. They left equipped not only with advanced analytical skills but also with leadership capabilities to guide their teams towards a data-driven business approach. “The workshop inspired attendees to advocate for a cultural shift within their organisations,” concluded the facilitators.
