Free SHS: Government releases GHC26 million to institutional suppliers

The Ministry of Education on Monday (15 April), said the release of the funds is a demonstration of government's commitment to ensuring the smooth running of educational institutions

Government has released an amount of GHC26 million to institutional suppliers responsible for the supply of school uniforms, physical education kits and stationary as part of the Free Senior High School programme.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday (15 April), said the release of the funds is a demonstration of government’s commitment to ensuring the smooth running of educational institutions.

“The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce the disbursement of GHC26 million to institutional suppliers’ responsible for the supply of school uniforms, physical education kits, stationary, etc as part of the Free Senior High School programme,” it said.

“The amount released, underscores the government’s commitment to fostering quality education and ensuring the smooth running of educational institutions.”

The MoE statement added “The Ministry affirms its commitment to ensuring smooth, timely, and efficient distribution of resources as we continue our efforts to improve and sustain quality education in Ghana.”
