Katanga alumni to Education Minister: Help release arrested students

The alumni group wants top officials of the KNUST to be called to order to avert what it describes as a looming academic crisis

Members of the University Hall alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are seeking the intervention of the Education Minister as they mount a campaign to free students of the Hall who are currently behind bars.

The students were arrested in connection with the recent violence on campus, which left properties destroyed and injured others.

But the Katanga alumni in its petition drew the minister’s attention to the development accusing management and the police of persecuting innocent students.

It wants top officials of the university to be called to order to avert what it describes as a looming academic crisis.
