King Promise: 3Music’s Sadiq Abdulai gave me a raw deal

In an interview with Caroline Sampson on Asaase Radio's Café995, the singer said: "He put my face on a billboard for an event (Wildaland). Meanwhile, he got back... and said the amount I'm charging they can't pay"

King Promise has responded to claims that he and his management have disrespected the CEO of 3Music Sadiq Abdulai.

“There are a couple of things that happen in the industry that make no sense that I don’t talk about. So people may not know my side of the story. Sadiq went on the internet and said a lot of things about me that made no sense at the end of the day,” the musician told Asaase Radio.

In an interview with Caroline Sampson on Asaase Radio’s Café995, the singer said, “it was as if he was trying to tarnish my reputation. I have known him from the beginning of my career now that I’m getting big you are clouting me on the internet.”

Sadiq Abdulai Abu revealed a few months back that King Promise and his team did not treat him fairly during preparations for ‘Wildaland’, adding that the team disrespected him.

“My man went on the internet and said so many things, I didn’t even speak to him but he said I disrespected him. We never even took GHC1 from him but there was a notion on the internet that we did,” King Promise added.

He said he has not spoken to Sadiq in a long time and that he could not possibly have disrespected him.

“The whole issue was that he put my face on a billboard for an event (Wildaland). Meanwhile, he got back to my management and said the amount I’m charging they can’t pay and I understood that because probably there’s an allocated budget for the programme.

“My management asked him to stop doing promo in my name and take my face off the billboard because I didn’t want to tell my fans I was doing a show when I’m actually not doing a show, that’s the whole issue,” King Promise said.

“I know Sadiq from before I even started working with Killbeatz. This is business, we could have agreed that maybe for now the budget doesn’t work so we can do it another time but it was even wrong for him to go ahead and slap my face on a billboard,” he added.
