Kwahu remains the ultimate Easter destination, says GTA

The Ghana Tourism Authority, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture, organised the event, which saw 12 pilots fly clients from the Odweanoma mountain to the Nkawkaw stadium

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has described this year’s Easter celebration in Kwahu in the Eastern Region  as a huge success.

“We set target for ourselves and were expecting about 300 people to fly but because of the weather conditions only 200 were able to fly,” the CEO of GTA, Akwasi Agyemang said after the event.

The four-day Kwahu Easter and paragliding celebration came to an end on Monday (18 April), with the police calling it one of the best ever.

The event has been on a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the highlights of the event was the launch of the Kwahu State book attended by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

For the Kwahu Easter celebrations, the Ghana Police Service deployed an estimated one thousand personnel to the ridge enclave to ensure law and order.

This year’s Kwahu Easter event, according to the Eastern Regional police spokesperson DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, was one of the greatest in recent memory.

Many people have praised the Kwahu Easter celebration as an excellent approach to promote the country’s tourism to the rest of the globe.
