Larabanga: Samuel Abu Jinapor commissions second Astro Turf

Speaking at a short ceremony at the commissioning, the member of Parliament Damongo constituency noted that the rationale behind the construction of the AstroTurf is to promote football in the Damongo constituency and also to identify talents

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has on Friday 16th, December, 2022, commissioned a modern AstroTurf for the people of Larabanga in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region.

Speaking at a short ceremony at the commissioning, the member of Parliament Damongo constituency noted that the rationale behind the construction of the AstroTurf is to promote football in the Damongo constituency and also to identify talents.

“The rationale is to promote football in the constituency so that we can identify talents, grow and develop the talents so that they can play all the way to the senior national team and play international soccer” he stated.

The MP, however reiterated his commitment to bringing the needed development to the constituency.

According to him, he will do everything possible under his capacity to serve the people.

The legislature however indicated that he is intended to construct four of such modern AstroTurfs in the constituency to uplift the standards of football in the area.

The Larabanga AstroTurf which has been constructed by the Zongo Development Community and the office of the Member of Parliament, is the second in the constituency.

Football matches among other games were organized as part of activities to mark the commissioning of the new football pitch.
