Miracles Aboagye: Mahama must come clean on how he’s going to review Free SHS

The communications director of the Bawumia Campaign Team says the consistent attack of the policy by John Mahama is unwarranted

The communications director for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has chastised the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama over his consistent attack on the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

Mahama last year announced he would review the Free SHS policy in the first 100 days of taking office if elected in the 2024 general elections. He has since been criticising the implementation of the flagship policy.

Aboagye says the consistent attack of the policy by John Mahama is unwarranted considering his stance prior to implementation of the policy.

Speaking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show Wednesday (10 April), Aboagye said Mahama must come clear on how he intends to review the Free SHS policy.

“. . . And so, tell us, Free SHS is a school-fees-paying policy, what is your definition of review, are you going to remove it completely or are you going to make some people pay and not others pay.”

Aboagye added, “That is the clarity we are asking for in terms of what he means by review and I don’t think this is too much to ask.”
