We want to see an end to NDC and NPP dominance, says Fighters spokesperson

In a press release issued on 8 April, the Fighters welcomed the recent alliance between the National Interest Movement (NIM), led by Abu Sakara and Alan Kyerematen's Movement for Change (M4C)

The Economic Fighters League (Fighters), a non-partisan political movement, is urging smaller parties to unite and challenge the dominance of the country’s two main parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a press release issued on 8 April, the Fighters welcomed the recent alliance between the National Interest Movement (NIM), led by Abu Sakara and Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change (M4C).

John Koomson, the national spokesperson of the Fighters, emphasised the need for a unified front during an interview on Asaase Radio’s Big Bulletin on Monday (8 April).

“The fact is, we want to see an end to the NDC and NPP dominance in the political terrain of Ghana,” Koomson declared. “We are ready to go all out, campaign, [and] be actively involved in the 2024 elections to ensure that the NPP and the NDC are not voted back into power,” he said.

“The CPP (Convention People’s Party), the PNC (People’s National Convention), and [the] APC (All People’s Congress) have been in existence since time immemorial, and they’ve never been able to give any significant difference whenever there is an election. So we are trying to say that if we really want to save Ghana, we need to come together, put all these smaller factions into one unit and then stand up against the duopoly of the NDC and the NPP,” Koomson added.
