National Cathedral likely to be completed in the coming year, says Joyce Aryee

Joyce Aryee made this announcement at the opening ceremony for a three-day interdenominational Bible reading marathon and worship service in Accra, dubbed “Come Let Us Worship”

A member of the board of trustees of the National Cathedral, Joyce Aryee, has said the National Cathedral project is likely to be completed in the coming year.

She was speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony for a three-day, interdenominational Bible reading marathon and worship service, dubbed “Come Let Us Worship” in Accra.

The initiative is designed for the African diaspora to experience authentic Ghanaian Christian worship and builds on one of the distinctive aspects of Ghanaian and African Christianity – the vibrancy of its worship.

Aryee was optimistic that the Bible reading marathon will become an annual event which will be replicated in the other regions of Ghana. She stressed that the reading is open to all who are interested to come and read.

The chairman of the board of trustees for the National Cathedral, Apostle Opoku Onyinah (Church of Pentecost), said that the trustees will collaborate with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Beyond the Return (BTR) Secretariat to ensure the full participation of the African diaspora.

Ultimately, he said, the interdenominational Bible reading marathon will also be a way of reaching out to the African diaspora to support the National Cathedral project.
