NDC primaries: EC to organise run-off for Agbana and Adanu in Ketu North

Agbana and Adanu have been tight-lipped since the development while their supporters continue to exhibit peaceful cohesion

The Electoral Commission (EC) in Ketu North Constituency of the Volta Region is negotiating with executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to organise a run-off for Agbana and Adanu following Saturday’s election.

The polls showed a tie for the two candidates, Edem Agbana and John Adanu.

An earlier count showed 360 votes for Agbana and 359 for Adanu. Adanu and his team appealed for a recount and it was done twice.

After the second recount, the EC found ballot papers which had no stamp from the commision. This changed the results to 358 votes per candidate.

Agbana and Adanu have been tight-lipped since the development. Their supporters continue to exhibit peaceful cohesion.

Eight aspirants contested the seat. The incumbent, James Klutse Avedzi, after voting, told the media that he only voted in the presidential race.

He explained that, all eight aspirants are capable so he did not want to be biased by voting for any of them.
