Two people have been shot dead in a clash between security personnel and protesters in Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
The two have been identified as Abdul Nasiw, 25, and Muntala Mohammed, 26.
Asaase News’s Ashanti regional correspondent, Jonathan Ofori, reports that four others are in critical condition after they were shot by the joint security personnel.
Protesters took to the streets over the death of Ibrahim Kaaka Mohammed, a social media activist who was reportedly attacked by a mob over his social media activism.

The protesters poured out on to the streets of Ejura on Monday demanding justice for the murder of Mohammed.
The death of the father of five has sparked widespread anger among young people in the town, who are calling for the arrest of the culprits.
Clad in red armbands and headgear, the angry youngsters blocked roads leading to Ejura to press home their demands.
Arrest
At least two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Kaaka.
The suspects – Ibrahim Issaka and Fuseini Alhassan – were picked up on Monday evening in response to police intelligence.
Speaking to reporters in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional spokesman for the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, said that Kaaka was ambushed by two men in front of his house on returning home at roughly 1.30am on Sunday.
“This morning we would like to inform the general public that the regional command has arrested two suspects in the attack and murder of Ibrahim Mohammed, alias Kaaka, aged 45,” he said.
“The suspects are Ibrahim Issaka alias Anyaas and Fuseini Alhassan, currently in custody. Both were arrested at about 10.45pm on Monday 28 June 2021 following police intelligence,” ASP Ahianyo announced.
He said the police have commenced investigations to ascertain whether the murder was linked to Kaaka’s work as a citizen journalist or the #FixTheCountry movement.
