NPP opens nominations for Sunyani East parliamentary primary
The Sunyani East constituency, along with five other constituencies, did not participate in the parliamentary primaries organised by the party on 27 January 2024
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened nominations for its parliamentary primary in the Sunyani East constituency in the Bono Region. The nomination period, starting on Wednesday, 14 February, will conclude on Saturday, 17 February.
In a statement signed by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party outlined the process for aspiring parliamentary candidates. The nomination forms, available for purchase at GH₵3,000, require a non-refundable application fee. Additionally, a non-refundable filing fee of GH₵35,000 is required to complete the nomination process.
Women, youth, and persons with disabilities are eligible for a 50% rebate on their filing fees. The statement also noted that all aspirants, except the incumbent Member of Parliament, will be expected to pay an additional GH₵40,000 as party development fees.
