NPP polls: Court stops Kumawu executives from voting

This follows petitions and court cases levelled against the party by some aggrieved members in the Kumawu Constituencies

A Kumasi High Court has ruled to prevent executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kumawu constituency from participating in the party’s regional elections.

This follows petitions and court cases levelled against the party by some aggrieved members in the Kumawu constituency.

According to the court, “all the defendants herein are restrained or injuncted from allowing the Kumawu constituency executive committee members from taking part in any election of the NPP until otherwise directed by the court.”

The court added that “the non-elected constituency executive committee members are also restrained or injuncted from performing any functions of the NPP in the Kumawu constituency, that is, attending meetings, taking part in any election at the constituency level, regional level and the national level until otherwise directed by the court.”
