Parts of Accra hit by earth tremor

Sunday morning’s earth tremor which occurred around 7:23 am according to some Ghanaians on social media was a bit serious compared to previous ones

Parts of the Greater Accra Region have been hit by earth tremor, the Ghana Geological Survey Authority has confirmed.

The affected areas include Kasoa, Mallam, Awoshie, Kwabenya, Anyaa Bortianor and Ablekuma.

Sunday morning’s earth tremor which occurred around 7:23 am according to some Ghanaians on social media was a bit serious compared to previous ones.

This is the second time Accra is experiencing an earth tremor this year.

The last one which was recorded in Accra on 10 March 2023 according to the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) measured 2.8 on the Ritcher scale.

The Ghana Geological Survey Authority says its team of seismologists is actively gathering data to determine the epicentre, magnitude and other factors of the event.
