Ralph Poku Adusei supports annual Bekwai sports competition with GHC12,000

The Bekwai municipality is zoned into ten circuits: each circuit will receive GHC1,000 for its local games

A native of Bekwai in the Ashanti Region who is also the managing partner at Trent Legal Amansie Chambers and prospective parliamentary candidate for Bekwai, Ralph Poku Adusei, has supported the Bekwai municipal education directorate with GHC12,000 for the upcoming municipality-wide sports competition.

The municipal area is zoned into ten circuits. Each circuit will receive GHC1,000 for its games. The remaining GHC2,000 will go to the directorate to support their preparations.

According to officials of the various circuits, Lawyer Poku Adusei’s kind gesture is timely because they had planned to pull out of the competition because of a lack of funds to organise the event.

After making the cash donation Poku Adusei said it was his distinct pleasure to offer a hand of support to the Bekwai municipal education directorate in the lead-up to the games.

He said that during his days in school in the municipality, he always looked forward to sports and he believed that his fellow Bekwai indigenes who are in school now look forward to sports and games just as he did.

“Supporting the people of Bekwai is a special passion for me now. It is my expectation that this year’s games will unearth great talents in the constituency,” Poku Adusei said.

“Sporting activities are one sure way to change the livelihoods of individuals and entire communities. I am certainly committed to supporting every effort by the Bekwai municipal education directorate aimed at building the sports portfolio of the constituency,” he said.

On her part, the municipal education director, Leticia Obeng, expressed her thanks to Lawyer Poku Adusei for his benevolence and support for sport in the municipality.

She called on other well-meaning indigenes of Bekwai to emulate the gesture of Lawyer Ralph in order to help build sports and sporting activities in the municipality.
