Tema MCE: I entered politics to inspire women with my story

Felecia Edem Attipoe rose from a humble beginning of working at the National Theatre to Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and to become the first female marshal to work at the Kotoka International Airport

The MCE for Tema West, Felecia Edem Attipoe has said she entered politics in order to inspire women with her story.

Edem Attipoe rose from a humble beginning from working at the National Theatre to Ghana Civil Aviation Authority to become the first female marshal to work at the Kotoka International Airport and now MCE for Tema West.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday ( 22 May), Attipoe said she had always wanted to be in politics.
“You know, I married a politician. Yeah. So I was an honourable wife. The reason why I wanted to do politics was to use my story in a certain way to empower women and get them into politics.

“I’m a single mum. And when we started, I realised most of the women … really want to do politics.”

“So I got them together. Started empowering them. Telling them what to do. I had an adult education school to teach them how to read and write … and had two women who tried to write the BECE,” Attipoe said.
