Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have sacked head coach Seydou Zerbo with immediate effect.
Zerbo who has previously coached Burkina Faso’s national football team joined Kotoko on a one-year deal in August last year.
Sharing the news on Facebook on Monday (27 March), Kotoko said Abdul Gazale will act as interim coach.
“Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and Coach Seydou Zerbo have this morning mutually agreed to part ways,” the post said.
“Coach Abdul Gazale has been tasked to take charge as acting head coach,” Kototo added.
About Zerbo
The 59-year-old has previously coached teams like SONABEL, ASFA Yennenga, and Rail Club du Kadiogo, who Kotoko are set to face in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
He was also in charge of the Burkina Faso team that eliminated Ghana in 2019, during the CHAN Qualifiers. The Stallions however failed to progress from the group stages at the tournament in Cameroun.
