MTN donates to Chief Imam towards Eid ul-Fitr celebration

As part of MTN Ghana's contribution to the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, the National Chief Imam received GHC10,000 to support the celebration

MTN Ghana has presented an amount of GHC10,000 and several items as its contribution to this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr.

The items include fifteen bags of rice, 10 cartons of vegetable oil, 40 packs of mineral water, 15 packs of soft beverages, 10 trays of tin milk, four boxes of milo, five bags of sugar, and two boxes of tea bags, a ram, and GHC1,000.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to present the items, MTN’s general manager in charge of Regional Sales, Abubakar Mohammed said, “As we are all aware, the past two years have not been normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to come together to pray and even break our fast as we usually do during Ramadan.”

“This also affected the way we celebrated Eid-ul Fitr with all the restrictions we had to observe.”

“Things are gradually returning to normalcy. For the first time in two years, we have experienced some connection with family and friends during the Holy month of Ramadan. We believe this will be extended to the Eid-ul Fitr celebration in the coming days.” he added

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu, the National Chief Imam, who received the items, expressed gratitude for the telecom network’s generous gesture toward the Muslim community and hoped for the company’s ongoing prosperity.

He expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for its assistance. He said such gestures will boost the company’s relationship with the Muslim community.
