Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye appointed communication director for Bawumia’s 2024 campaign

Miracles is expected to co-ordinate and manage branding, mainstream media, social media and community engagement for the campaign

Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye, a presidential staffer, has been appointed the communications director for the New Patriotic Party’s 2024 election campaign.

As the director of communications for the Bawumia campaign, he is expected to co-ordinate and manage branding, mainstream media, social media and community engagement for Team Bawumia with the key objective of ensuring the 2024 campaign message gets to the right audience effectively and efficiently.

“Miracles” is highly respected in the inner circles of Bawumia and the NPP for his strategic and operational mindset. He is seen as an individual who possesses multiple capacities, including strategy formulation, strategy implementation and strong communication.

As a chartered marketer, his well-established marketing background and vast experience in managing and building brands make him an exciting candidate for this role, considering his vibrancy and strong appeal to the youth.

Profile of Dennis 

Aboagye is a chartered marketer with a postgraduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and an MBA in marketing from the Central University Graduate School of Business.

He has ten years of experience in the sales and marketing industry with exposure to fast-moving consumer goods and financial services.

Aboagye has professional experience in a variety of roles in the pensions industry, having worked with Enterprise Trustees Ltd and as a member of the Enterprise Group, starting as a client relations executive, earning promotion to client relationship manager, and finally serving as a unit head in charge of client relations.

Before he joined Enterprise, Aboagye was the Eastern Regional director of the Youth Enterprises and Skills Development Centre (YESDEC), a World Bank-funded project promoting job creation. He has particular interests in business development, sales management and brand positioning.

“Miracles” also has an unblemished track record from his days in student politics at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he held various leadership positions, ranging from head of Akuafo JCR to member of the University of Ghana SRC elections committee.

He set up the first-ever youth wing of the New Patriotic Party in Akropong in the Eastern Region.

“Miracles” Aboagye has risen through the ranks of the NPP, going from polling station youth organiser to polling station chairman, through to constituency deputy youth organiser, youth organiser and then constituency campaign co-ordinator in the 2016 election in Akuapem North constituency.

He was also a political assistant to the former MP for Akuapem North, Honourable W O Boafo, as well as a leading member of the government/NPP communications team and former MCE for Akuapem North Municipal Assembly. Admirers give him credit for contributing in many ways to raising the image and brand of the party.

Biography

Dennis Edward Aboagye was born in Larteh Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

He began his basic schooling at the Larteh Presby Primary and completed it at the Swedru International School (SWIS), where he sat his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He studied for his SSCE at Okuapeman School in Akropong.

He proceeded to the University of Ghana, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Dennis is a devout Christian and is married with three beautiful children.
