The Supreme Court has released its full reasons in which it declared as unconstitutional the election of James Gyakye Quayson as a Member of Parliament for Assin North in the Central Region.

In a unanimous decision on 17 May 2023, the seven-member panel of the Supreme Court ordered Parliament to expunge the name of Quayson as MP.

The electoral commission has set 27 June to hold the by-election:
