Central Region: Headless body of taxi driver found in Ajumako

According to sources, the victim who operates a taxi service from Ekumfi Esaakyir to Ajumako had been missing for three days after three guys boarded his vehicle on Saturday, (29 October)

Bernard Botwey, a 28-year-old taxi driver, was found dead with his head severed at an uncompleted Senior High School (SHS) in Ajumako Mando in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

According to sources, the victim who operates a taxi service from Ekumfi Esaakyir to Ajumako went missing after three men boarded his vehicle on Saturday (29 October).

Subsequently, his family and some colleague drivers reported the incident to the police, but he was not found.

However, at 2pm on Tuesday (1 November), several neighbours near the school smelled a foul odour. They followed the scent and discovered the deceased’s decomposed headless body.

They reported it to the Ajumako District Police, who arrived at the scene and identified the deceased as the missing driver.

The body has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation while the case is under investigation at the Ajumako District Police Command.

The taxi with registration number GT-6188-20 was also taken away by the assailants.
