Ghana to roll out knowledge and skills bank soon, says Education Minister

The initiative modelled after the Egyptian Knowledge Bank is part of moves by government to transform the country's educational system to meet international standards

The Minister of Education Dr Yaw Adutwum has announced plans by the government to roll out the Ghana Knowledge and Skills Bank in the coming months.

The initiative modelled after the Egyptian Knowledge Bank is part of moves by government to transform the country’s educational system to meet international standards.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (26 March) Adutwum said Ghana is poised to actively participate in the fourth industrial revolution with the right investment in education.

“. . . We also have the Ghana knowledge and skills bank, something we are about to launch very soon modelled after the Egyptian knowledge bank, it has already been developed,” he said.

“The initiative is funded by the World Bank with textbook and magazines for universities on it, all the textbook and literature books from primary are all on the “Ghana Knowledge and Skills Bank.”

Adutwum added, “What you need is your national ID, you log in, books are made available to you at home school and then on your devices. So our government is looking at creating the entire ecosystem for transformation of education.”
