Guyanese President Irfaan Ali, six others honoured at Africa Prosperity Champions Awards

Guyanese President Irfaan Ali and six others have been honoured at the Africa Prosperity Champions Awards held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra on Friday (26 January).

President Ali received the Global Africa Leadership Award at the event that saw top business leaders from across Africa gather in Accra as part of the 2024 edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues.

 The six others who received awards include Alassane Ouattara, President of Cote d’Ivoire (Nation Builder award), Prof. Benedict Okechukwu Oramah, the president of the Afreximbank (Financial Leadership award), Julius Mwale, founder of Mwale Medical and Technology City (Social Infrastructure award), Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade (Young Entrepreneur award), Patricia Scotland (Global Africa Champion Award Baroness) and Mohamed M Abou El Enein (Industrialist of the Year award).

Wamkele Mene, secretary general of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration

 The Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2024 started on Thursday (25 January) at the Peduase Presidential Lodge in the Akuapem Hills of the Eastern Region.

 The three-day event ends on Saturday, 27 January 2024 and will have as its overarching focus the need to propose concrete measures which will lead to Africans achieving prosperity for the African continent.
