Gyampo to Akufo-Addo: Some of your men are tired, reshuffle them

President Akufo-Addo has said he has no intention of reshuffling his ministers because they are meeting his expectations

A professor at the Political Science Department of the University of GhanaRansford Gyampo, has expressed worry over President Akufo-Addo’s decision not to reshuffle his appointees.

Speaking on the Big Bulletin on Asaase Monday (8 August), Gyampo said, “If you have the men, some are tired, some have been incompetent, some are packing away. Why don’t you reshuffle them and bring others on board? Fresh ideas, fresh mind, fresh views, fresh energy, and all that. But it’s up to the president to decide.”

“If the president feels that they have done marvellously, well … after his tenure we will be the best judges, we would assess him and determine whether he has done well with his ministers or not,” he said.

Gyampo added: “And so if the president feels they are doing well and we feel they are not doing well, I think the one whose position must be taken is that of the president because he appointed them. But at the end of the day, we will do a thorough assessment of his government to see whether his ministers helped him, or they didn’t help him.”
